ICCSimDev features ability to create and modify plaintext ICCSim test scripts which are created either by importing an existing ICCSim terminal test script or else by cloning an existing test card. It is also possible to build a test script using card configurations and building block components provided. ICCSimDev is then used to download the newly created / modified test script onto an ICCSim card.

ICCSimDev can import from existing scripts, or directly from querying a smart card, modify the script, and build a new script. It gives access to all details of the test script, and you can change any byte you wish; even to using invalid data to satisfy specific tests.

Script Projects

Scripts in ICCSimDev are organised into projects; groups of scripts that can share common components, and share a common output target directory. Script projects are flexible to use, and are best used as temporary groupings of scripts while a short series of tasks is performed.

ICCSimDev Scripts

ICCSimDev stores the details of a script in its own format, giving more control over all details of a test script. From this internal representation of the script, ICCSimDev can output the test script in the ICCSim test script format.

ICCSimDev projects are collections of the scripts, and their associated data, needed to build ICCSim Test Scripts. An ICCSimDev project has three parts; the Scripts, the Components, and the Data Tables.

Components: Script Building Blocks

ICCSimDev scripts are constructed from a selection of building blocks called components.

There are a wide variety of sources for components:

• Import of existing scripts or data from smart cards
• Data extracted from Import sources
• Manually entered data / Default system data
• Once a component is imported into ICCSimDev, it is fully editable.

The ICCSolHost Simulator may be used during EMV Level 2 terminal application development and type approval testing providing a simulation of the host for the terminal under test. This variant can utilise a simple, generic base line configuration supporting RS232 serial communication and BER TLV message protocol.

The use of serial communications enables the ICCSolHost product to be used worldwide, and enables testing to be performed independent of specific acquirer message formats. A pre-defined set of host scripts is available to support this EMV Level 2 testing.

ICCSolHost may also be used during payment association certification preparation (e.g. Visa ADVT and TIP for MasterCard).

By applying a simple configuration change, ICCSolHost may be used as a Transaction Generator, providing flexibility to generate various transactions over the network.

The following communication modules are currently available:

• PSTN Modem: the communications will be via an available Hayes Standard compliant modem either fitted in the PC itself or accessed indirectly via an RS232 serial port.
• Socket, the communications will be carried out through an available socket on the local machine.

The following message protocol modules are currently available:

• BASE24 SPDH

• GCAG and XML GCAG

Additional communication protocols and message formats over and above those listed can be developed upon request charged at module cost (i.e. no development cost).

Q, How many cards are in the RCTP?

There are currently 5 cards in the RCTP comprising International Maestro, MasterCard, Visa Credit (PIN), Visa Credit (Signature) and Visa Electron.

Q, Are these live or test keys?

The cards contain the Issuer test keys only as they should ONLY be used with a Test host or in Training mode.

Q, Can I block the PIN?

The cards have PIN values configured for PIN validation successful, Invalid PIN, blocked PIN. The PIN is not actually blocked, it is simulated hence cards can be re-used for further testing.

Q, Are these good cards?

Yes, all cards contain good profiles.
